Wine Rack Label Installation Instructions

Size: Wine Rack Labels are available in four sizes.

The ½” X4” varietal label is slightly less than four inches to fit side by side on normal wine rack openings. The ½” width is intended to cover the width of the rack without excessive overhang.

The ¾” X5” varietal label is intended to be used on wine refrigerator racks or wider wine racks. These labels should not be used if your racking is ½”. When wine bottles are removed, the bottles will hit the label and may dislodge it. The ½” width label may also be used on wine refrigerators or wider wine racks.

The ½” X11/2” locator label is intended for use with computerized wine storage systems. The locator label allows a specific bottle location without excessive verbiage.

The 1/2X3/4” mini-locator label is designed to provide location information with the least intrusion in your wine cellar. These will be engraved either with the ¾” horizontally - to be mounted on top of the wine rack, or vertically - to be mounted down the side of the wine rack, as requested.

If for any reason, the label is slightly wider than the rack, align the top of the label with the top of the rack. This will allow removal of the bottle below without hitting the label.

Installation:

• Clean the surface of the rack with a damp cloth. Dry the surface carefully. Painted or stained surfaces must be completely dry. Caution: When removing and repositioning Wine Rack Labels from painted or stained surfaces, the coating may sustain damage from the double-sided tape and need minor repair.
• Remove plaid backing from the double-sided tape immediately prior to installation. Exposed tape will pick up lint and dirt, which will greatly reduce the tape adhesion.
• Position the label in the proper location. Do not apply pressure to the label until the label is straight and aligned as required. Assure the tape is making contact with the wine rack.
• Press directly on the front of the label using your finger or your finger and a soft cloth. Never use tools to press labels onto racks. Wine Rack Labels are solid Brass and will scratch when touched by a sharp object.
• After the label is pressed, use a soft dry cloth to remove any fingerprints from the label.

Removal and Repositioning of Wine Rack Labels:

• Wine Rack Labels may be removed by using a putty knife or wide blade screwdriver placed under the label between the label and the rack. Prying gently with the putty knife or screwdriver should pull the label or tape loose without damaging the label. Caution: Care should be taken to avoid damage to the wine rack surface. Covering the edge of the putty knife blade or screwdriver blade with masking tape or other heavy tape will reduce the chance of damage. When removing and repositioning Wine Rack Labels from painted or stained surfaces, the coating may sustain damage from the double-sided tape and need minor repair.
• Remove the double-sided tape from the label or rack. Always replace the double-sided tape with a heavy-duty 3M foam tape. Clean the back of the label with alcohol. Cut the tape approximately 3/8” wide and ½” shorter than the label. Apply the tape to the label. Or Contact us and we will send the industrial-strength tape we use to you at no charge.

Follow the installation instructions to reposition the label.
